travel washlet

Toto’s Travel Washlet carries approximately 20 seconds of water (180 milliliters) for misting your taint. Unfortunately, it doesn’t dry you off.

Your laptop works as hard as you (probably harder), so dress it that way. $35 for this laptop sleeve.

catpaw

Reminds me of those bird/alligator/monkey head pinchers we’d get from the zoo when I was a kid. I think they came out with similar dinosaur heads during the Jurassic Park movies. These are solely made to fuck with other people.

readymech

“Readymechs are free, flatpack toys for you to print and build. They are designed to fit on an 8.5″x11″ page and printed with any printer. You’ll need double-sided tape, thick matte paper, and 10-15 minutes for build time.”

My version of ‘Papercut of Death’ turned out pretty darn good.

lg microwaves

LG Electronics has a line of combination microwave/toaster, microwave/coffee maker and microwave/other products.

This reminds me of this week’s NY Times Magazine article on ‘The Myth of Commoditization’. It covers toasters, focusing on the Egg & Muffin toaster.

nintendo m82

This piece of Nintendo history sold on ebay for $1,526 last month. Apparently less than 200 of the Nintendo M82 NES System 12 game selecters were manufactured and they were never availble for purchase. By my calculations, this guy would need about 56 M82s….

On a related note, I picked up Tecmo Bowl and Ice Hockey on the Wii Virtual Console this weekend. Both are definitely worth the $5.

Wyman metal

Bill Wyman has his own ’signature’ metal detector.

“My Bill Wyman Signature Detector is lightweight, easy to use and affordable – yet has significant performance levels. It is the ideal metal detector for anyone starting out treasure hunting”

The former Rolling Stones bassist has even written a book on hidden treasure. Surreal.

nike 2015

What’s the McFLY 2015 project?

It’s a grassroots movement to get Nike to make available to consumers the futuristic-looking sneakers seen in the 1989 movie Back to the Future Part 2.

8 bit tie

Depending on your workplace, this may or may not qualify as a legitimate tie. If not, it’s gotta fly on casual fridays. If not even then, you need a new job.

As an added bonus, it’s a clip-on! $19.99.

mlb urn

Eternal Image has a line of Major League Baseball urns and caskets planned for launch during this season. Cubs fans, you might as well ready one for your team right now.

They also have Precious Moments urns and caskets. Perfect for the wife who’s husband is lined up for a Nascar casket.

Inhalable caffeine

SurgeStix

I’m all for options, so here’s another for getting your caffeine fix. You don’t light SurgeStix, but since they are stimulants shaped like cigs, they may help in kicking the habit.

“Each “puff” will suck roughly 18mg of caffeine into your lungs (and right into your bloodstream!) With about 10 “tokes” per SurgeStix, you’ll get 180mg of caffeine in just a few breaths.”

That is about double a cup of coffee or a red bull.

Altipower

“The AltiPower Personal Hypoxicator uses your own natural breathing process to produce reduced oxygen (hypoxic) air. Continuous breathing using AltiPower, with its patented, semi-closed, respiratory circuit, gradually decreases the oxygen content of the breathing air. This replicates the conditions of high altitude and with it, the benefits of alpine-like air.”

I may be climbing a 10,000 ft mountain later this summer, and coming from zero elevation Miami, something like this may help. However, I’m failing to see how this works any differently than a paper bag.

Best piece of information from the Altipower site, the World Anti-Doping Agency president’s name is “Dick Pound”…seriously.
