The Onion

“Pamela Meyers was delighted to receive yet another thoughtful CD recommendation from Amazon.com Friday, confirming that the online retail giant has a more thorough, individualized, and nuanced understanding of Meyers’ taste than the man who occasionally claims to love her, husband Dean Meyers.”

Rodman takes on the Globetrotters

Rodman

Dennis was a guest on the Stern show this morning. He brought along his ‘jew’, who takes car of his business dealings and finances in general. This guy had some funny stories about how Dennis gets around his allowance, usually in Vegas.

Rodman claimed it didn’t work out with Carmen Electra due to her wanting to be a star. Sexually he’s settled down now that he’s married. As far as his wild reputation, he explained one fine away as a misunderstanding about where a helicopter could land.

As far as the game, supposedly it’s going to be real. It was very poorly explained (imagine that!), but apparently the globetrotters play the generals and do legitimate games. No buckets of water will be dumped on Rodman’s head and if they pull down his pants “they’d better be prepared to give him oral!” None of the other Piston Bad Boys will be one the team Dennis is putting together for the game.

Apparently another team must be trying to work the globetrotter’s name as their site advertises them as ‘the orginal harlem globetrotters.’ Would have figured they were all dead.

pig race

Confused Texan Craig Baker held pig races and a cookout to protest an Islamic association’s plans to build a mosque next to his property. Apparently he first got angry when they asked him to move his cows off their property. He thought they also meant off his own property. Despite conceding that the muslims weren’t after his land and the association stating the pig race doesn’t offend them, Baker said it had gone too far and he’d be a laughingstock if he cancelled the event. Kind of backfired.

Be sure to check out the video for easily the hottest woman I’ve seen sporting a burka.

Lake Louisa

Off to Lake Louisa for the next two days (yes the best camping in Florida is in the dead of winter).

Then on New Years Day, heading into Orlando for the Capital One Bowl. Still debating whether a badger or a razorback would win if they met in the wild.

homer puzzle

Solve 150 jigsaw puzzles to complete this bust of Homer. After you finish, you color him with the included paint. 750 pieces.

It’d be cool if it contained a new story, but it’s most likely scenes from past episodes.

LSD The Beyond Within

Runs through it’s history in a pretty balanced manner. Interviews with Albert Hoffman, Lord Christopher Mayhew, Ken Kesey and participants in early studies. Called “LSD - The Beyond Within ” I’m not sure what year it was filmed, looks like the 1970s.

Bling is dead

Leo’s new movie may not be great, but the message is. Thankfully it’s giving some press to the issue

Annansi Clothing Demand Details! campaign:

“Two African-born artists are calling for the end of “Bling” this holiday season. Chosan, the Sierra Leonean-born hip-hop artist whose voice is heard on Kanye West’s “Diamonds from Sierra Leone” video, and G. Kofi Annan of award-nominated Annansi Clothing Co. are spearheading an effort to eliminate the bling culture which helps fund bloody wars in Africa.”

Rabbit blimp

balloons
As part of Art Basel, the “Skywalker” art blimp parade took place on south beach today. The lineup showcased dirigibles designed by Ara Peterson, Misaki Kawai, Friends With You, Paper Rad, Mumbleboy, David Choe, and Devilrobots

Sadly no R2D2’s or ewoks. But they definitely made up for it. Here’s a few. Shoot me an email if you’d like full-size versions.
