Black Sapote
Wednesday, January 30th, 2008Somehow I have never come across this fruit in my entire life. Critical Miami has a great photo of a piece ready to spoon from. Apparently they need to be very ripe. It is also used in ice cream, milk, juice, dips and liquor.

Friday, January 11th, 2008Has Blu-ray won?
Saturday, January 5th, 2008In addition to Apple, Warner Brothers is now going to throw its weight behind the Blu-ray format for high-definition disks. Warner has been the only major studio to publish its movies in both Blu-ray and HD DVD formats. Today, the studio announced that from now on, it would only issue movies in Blu-ray.Until now, the war between the formats has seemed like a standoff. Of the big studios, Disney, Fox and Sony have backed Blu-ray. NBC Universal and Viacom back HD DVD.
Richard Greenfield, the media analyst with Pali Research, wrote that this marks the end of the format wars: “We expect HD DVD to ‘die’ a quick death.”

Mario is still the man
Wednesday, January 2nd, 2008A coincidence he looks like Ron Jeremy? Anyway, Mario Galaxy is amazing. I had my doubts, but they were erased within 5 minutes of popping the game in my Wii. Then Bee Mario? Over the top!
To celebrate, here’s a video of the evolution of Mario all the way through Mario Galaxy (although they could have included some boss footage). AND a cool poster of the History of Power-ups, although it doesn’t include Mario Galaxy:
