Live action Beavis & Butthead movie?

If so, we’ve got one of the leads! No idea what’s up with his forehead. Perhaps something to do with this looking like a mugshot.

Found this pic on boredsheepless, an entertaining blog which also had miss nipple foot and fantastic videos of Morgan “JJ” Freeman and an old-time bike crash.

A dog’s best friend

billy and kiko

Here’s a great video of a monkey and a dog that have become inseparable after a flood forced the dog into the wild to fend for itself.

Looks like she’s treating the monkey as a baby. Maybe the monkey hooked the dog up with some bananas out in the wild.

“When severe flood waters hit northern Mozambique in 2002, causing misery and extensive damage to property and crops, many animals were left to fend for themselves. But villagers in Caia witnessed a bizarre friendship between a dog and a monkey.

A skinny dog emerged from the bush with a tiny monkey clinging to its back. ”

The only problem I see is what if I want a red apple? Extra points for the banana hook. Banana tree, your days are numbered.

RIP Larry “Bud” Melman

Calvert DeForest

Apparently Calvert DeForest, aka Larry “Bud” Melman, passed Monday at age 85.

While working as a file clerk at a drug rehabilitation facility, he was “discovered” by people associated with David Letterman’s show when he appeared in a New York University student’s film.

Video of Larry “Bud” Melman handing out hot towels at a NYC bus station.

Top 10 coolest trees

Wednesday, March 21st, 2007

The lone cypress from Pebble Beach, Monterey Peninsula, California comes in at #10 on Neatorama’s list.

“The Methuselah tree, found at 11,000 feet above sea level, is 4,838 years old – it is not only the oldest tree but also the oldest living non-clonal organism in the world.”

Remote Wii

Tom’s Hardware Guide built a solar powered, mobile Wii setup and took it for a stroll on the Venice boardwalk. Pretty nifty and $1,431.17 isn’t a bad price, especially considering they used a $700 HD monitor.

Check out video of the unit in action.

WET Vegas

Las Vegas WET is a $1 billion project with plans to build the largest indoor water park in America, an indoor ski area as well as the usual casino, hotel and event areas.

Check out the renderings on their site for some pretty wild looking pool areas.

Give me a home where the bedouins roam

Tuesday, March 20th, 2007

“New ‘bedouins’ transform a laptop, cell phone and coffeehouse into their office”

More and more of my friends and colleagues are gaining the luxury of working from anywhere they please. The San Francisco Chronicle has an interesting article that surveys the Bay Area’s bedouin landscape.

I’m not much of a fan of working in coffee houses. I had to hit mute between each time I spoke on a conference call I attempted in a cafe last month. Home office or couch would suit me just fine….

Bike coaster in flight

bike coaster

Crazy photos of a pedal-powered rollercoaster in Japan. Looks extremely dangerous, mostly because the people don’t look very buckled in and it’s a pretty long drop. However the wild track with the hills and loops in the photos are from a regular rollercoaster.
