Square grouper
Boingboing posted an article about some coke washing ashore in Hollywood, FL yesterday. Apparently it was 81 pounds and the package was covered in barnacles. When I first moved down here 6 years ago I remember a few packages washing up on Miami Beach at 41st street. Haven’t heard much since though. I guess most are probably picked up or lost in the swamps down in the southern tip of FL.

On a side note, I noticed wikipedia didn’t have an entry for ’square grouper’ so I added one, we’ll see how that goes. In my quick googling I found that there’s a bar in Jupiter, FL called Square Grouper. Apparently Alan Jackson filmed a music video there. I also came across this amusing fisherman’s tale on about.com.
